Seasonal Code Enforcement reminders
Summer — return of weed season
This is the time of year when weeds and grass grow fast and need to be cut or removed on a regular schedule. The Littleton City Code states: "It shall be unlawful for any owner of real property to fail to cut or cause to be cut, all weeds growing thereon or to fail to take reasonable steps to control noxious vegetation in the city. Weed is defined as: weeds, grass, or brush which has grown to maturity or is in excess of eight inches in height." For more information or to report weed violations call 303-795-3831 for properties west of South Windermere Street or 303-795-3808 for properties east of South Windermere Street.
Cold weather reminders
The Littleton City Code requires owners or occupants of property, including vacant lots, to remove snow and ice from adjoining sidewalks within 24 hours after every snowfall.
The city code allows most burning of solid fuel (wood, coal, etc.) except on declared high pollution days. The code provides for certain exemptions with the “Phase III” stove. In some cases the city requires an exemption permit.
To report violations or get more information about the permit, call code enforcement at 303-795-3759 or 303-795-3831.
