The politics of political signs
Poliltical signs.'Tis the season — election season. You may notice political signs popping up in yards and along streets. Political signs promoting candidates and various state and local initiatives may also begin appearing in neighborhoods and commercial areas. Political signs are a big part of the democratic system, but as with other signs, they are not allowed in certain locations. Signs advertising a political candidate or ballot initiative may only be displayed on private property. The property owner’s permission should be obtained prior to placing the sign on the property. Political signs are not allowed in a public park or in a public right-of-way, such as on power poles, traffic signal poles, in medians, or in the strip of lawn between the street and a sidewalk. Call the Littleton Community Development department at 303-795-3748 with questions, or to report a violation. Thank you to those involved in various campaigns this year, for their help in observing these rules.

Coyote.LPD offers some tips on coyotes
The issue of human-coyote interaction has been a popular topic in many circles recently. The issue is timely as coyote pups will begin to emerge from their dens during the spring months. It is important to remember that coyotes can live in almost any environment, and many have adapted to living in an urban area. Humans should practice avoidance as much as possible when dealing with coyotes, particularly if there is a den in the neighborhood. While coyotes are typically afraid of human interaction, they can get aggressive on occasion. More coyote information
