List of Merit
The List of Merit was established by the Historical Preservation Board in April, 2002 to highlight those properties identified by the City's 1997 and 2001 historic resources surveys as worthy of preservation. Properties included on this list were those identified in the surveys as eligible for local, state or the national registers, and contributing properties within the proposed Downtown Historic District Boundary.
Any building on the List of Merit is subject to a 30-day hold on any building permit for new construction, alteration, removal, or demolition. List of Merit buildings in the Transporation Impact Zone (TIZ), are subject to review by the Historical Preservation Board for architectural compatibility with adjacent historic structures as part of any Planned Development Overlay (PDO) application.
