Housing Rehabilitation

Housing Rehabilitation

The Littleton Housing Authority Rehab program was established to revitalize and preserve homes within the city limits of Littleton. The program provides assistance to Littleton HOMEOWNERS who are living in substandard homes and are not otherwise able to afford to rehabilitate their homes. It serves families and seniors with low to moderate-incomes. Total family income cannot exceed 80 percent of the area median income limits.

The goal of the Littleton Rehab Program is to upgrade the housing stock in the city of Littleton, one home at a time. The program provides low-interest loans and/or grants to homeowners living in single-family homes, town homes, or condominiums. Loans are designed to fit the needs of the homeowners, with repayment depending upon income and the homeowner's ability to pay. The loans may be established on the basis of principal and interest, interest-only, or in some cases, a full grant may be available. The Littleton Housing Authority Board of Commissioners serves as the loan committee and approves the loans.

All types of rehabilitation can be done including, but not limited to, repair or replacement of roofing, gutters, electrical, plumbing, heating systems, flooring, windows, doors and concrete replacement. Special attention is given to health and safety issues, weatherization and energy conservation, handicap accessibility and code issues.

Centennial Housing Rehabilitation Program
Littleton Housing Authority and the City of Centennial recently executed an Intergovernmental Agreement that established a Demonstration Housing Rehabilitation Program for homeowners in the City of Centennial, Districts I and II. This new program is being funded through a $150,000 HOME Funds grant from Arapahoe County.

The Centennial Rehab Program provided low-interest (4.75%) loans to homeowners living in single-family homes or duplexes. Loans are customized to fit the needs of the homeowner, with repayment depending on income and ability to pay. The maximum income for eligibility is 80% of area median income. The maximum loan is $25,000.00.

All types of renovations can be completed, including repairs to roofing, electrical systems, plumbing, gutters, flooring, heating systems, windows and doors. Small remodeling jobs such as kitchen and bathroom remodels and basement finishing also qualify for the program. Careful attention is given to residents requiring handicap retrofit in their homes.

For more information on the programs, and to arrange for a determination of eligibility and an assessment of your housing rehab needs, please contact Kimberly Kingston, Rehab Coordinator, at 303-991-5301.

All Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting lists are closed until further notice.
