Back to Littleton Press Room Littleton Housing Authority receives Home Funds Grant from Arapahoe CountyThe Littleton Housing Authority (LHA) recently received notification from Arapahoe County of two HOME Funds awards, totaling $300,000. Each of the awards will be used for housing rehabilitation. The first award of $150,000 will be used for the Littleton Housing Rehabilitation Program. Loans are available to homeowners within the city limits of Littleton, who meet income eligibility and can be customized to fit the needs of the client. The Littleton Housing Authority Board of Commissioners recently lowered the interest rate on rehab loans to 4.75%. Loans are simple interest and are serviced by LHA. The scope of the program includes, but is not limited to, basement refinishing, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, room additions, handicap retrofit, new roofs and gutters, electrical and plumbing upgrades. Kimberly Kingston, Rehab Coordinator, will work with each homeowner in developing the scope of work, selection of contractors and will provide oversight of the work being done. The second award of $150,000 will be used to develop a similar rehab program in the City of Centennial. Income limits and loan criteria will be the same for the Centennial Demonstration Program. Dan Burnham, LHA Executive Director stated that LHA is pleased to be working with the City of Centennial to develop a program for that community. The Littleton program has been successful in maintaining and upgrading older housing stock within the community.
