Littleton Police Arrest Daycare Employee for Sexual Assault on Child

Littleton Police detectives were notified by Arapahoe County Department of Human Services (ACDHS) of a possible sexual assault on a child that occurred on March 21, 2011, at the KinderCare, 5472 S. Federal Circle, in Littleton. The investigation revealed that a child made an outcry to their parent, who then notified KinderCare, who in turn reported immediately to ACDHS.

The investigation revealed that there are several victims. The suspect, Paul James KERR, DOB 05-04-1978, of Glendale, CO, was a lead teacher at KinderCare where he has worked since July 2010. KERR has also worked in a substitute capacity since 2005 in elementary education (K-6) for the Jefferson County and Denver Public School Districts. Prior to that, KERR worked as a summer church camp counselor in Branson, Missouri, from 1997 to 2005.

KERR was jailed on Sexual Assault on a Child and Sexual Assault by One in a Position of Trust, Class 3 felonies. He was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Littleton Police are requesting anyone with information regarding this investigation to please contact Detective Krista Bunten at 303-795-3891.
