Get Rid of Stuff You Don’t Need and Help Local Charities

Epic Spring Cleaning Event Planned

Clean out the closets. Browse through the basement. Go through the garage. Take the things you don’t need anymore to the second annual Epic Spring Cleaning Event, Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Littleton Home Depot store, 3000 West Belleview Avenue. The Cities of Littleton, Englewood, and Sheridan, and South Suburban Parks and Recreation, are partnering with the ARC Thrift Stores and Inter-Faith Community Services.

Home Depot Store Manager Herb Scott said he is happy to serve as host for the event. “Home Depot managers take pride in doing whatever we can to better serve the communities around us,” Scott said.

Interfaith Community Services Executive Director Sandra Blythe-Perry said, “We’re excited to partner with ARC Thrift Stores in this wonderful event that will have a meaningful impact for people in need throughout our area.”

ARC Thrift CFO Bruce Stahlman said the need for donations is strong. “The Epic Spring Cleaning event is a chance for people to clean out their closets while supporting Colorado-based local charities that in turn support people with developmental disabilities, their families and the under privileged,” Stahlman added.

Everyone is invited to bring gently used clothing, household items and furniture to the drop off site. They’ll receive a tax donation slip in return. Small electronics will be accepted but no paint, motor oil or chemicals. Food and toiletries are in great demand and will also be collected.

Volunteers are needed to assist participants in unloading donated goods at the drop off site and placing them in boxes for distribution. If you’d like to help, contact David Diedrich with ARC Thrift at 720-299-3120.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held the following Saturday, May 7 at the same time and location.
