Art Lovers Sought for Vacancies on Fine Arts Committee
The Littleton City Council is accepting applications for residents with an interest in the arts to fill two vacancies on the Fine Arts Committee (FAC). The committee meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Littleton Museum, 6028 South Gallup Street. The mission of the FAC is to assist the city in the selection and purchase of public art. It also arranges periodic art shows, and reviews all art donations to the city. The FAC is a working committee and additional time commitments may be required to prepare for and disassemble art shows, assist with receptions, and participate in maintenance and restoration of outdoor sculptures under the supervision of Littleton Museum staff.
Applications will be accepted in the city clerk's office until June 21 at 5 p.m. Applications can be picked up in person or can be found on the city website, www.littletongov.org. The city council will conduct interviews June 28 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the community room of the Littleton Center. The appointments will be effective July 1. For further information about the application process, contact City Clerk Wendy Heffner at 303-795-3753. For questions about the responsibilities of FAC members, contact Littleton Museum Deputy Director Lorena Donohue at 303-795-3950.
