Littleton Police Arrest Home Intruder with Restraining Order
Littleton Police were called at 12:45 a.m., via 9-1-1 to the 5900 block of S. Bemis St. on the report of a woman who had ran to a neighbor's home in need of help. Officers received information that a former acquaintance of the victim, Leroy James CHAVEZ, DOB 12-23-1962, whom she had a restraining order against, had forced his way into her home, assaulted her and attempted to kill her. CHAVEZ was fleeing the scene in his vehicle when he was observed by responding officers. He was stopped and taken into custody. The woman sustained a number of injuries, but none were life threatening.
CHAVEZ is being charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the 2nd Degree-Class 3 Felony, Second Degree Kidnapping-Class 2 Felony, Robbery-Class 4 Felony, First Degree Burglary-Class 3 Felony, Assault, Domestic Violence and Violation of a Restraining Order. CHAVEZ was booked into the jail on no bond. |
