Citizens invited to pose for pictures with Philip F. Anschutz Trophy
Celebrate the Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer (MLS) Championship and have your picture taken with the Philip F. Anschutz Trophy on Saturday, February 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Walt Whitman Elementary School, 6557 South Acoma Street. This will be the first appearance of the MLS Cup in the south metro area. Joining in the celebration will be Littleton Mayor Doug Clark, Littleton Soccer Executive Director Pete Barrett, Rapids mascots, and Paul Bravo, Colorado Rapids technical director.
The Colorado Rapids won the MLS championship in a 2-1 overtime victory against FC Dallas in Toronto on November 21. It is the first championship in the franchise’s 15 year history.
Attendees should bring their own camera and can enter a drawing for Colorado Rapids team autographed merchandise. The event is free and everyone is welcome.
