Prescription Drug Take-Back Program

Working with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Littleton Police Department (LPD) is participating in the national “Take-Back” campaign October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  LPD is encouraging citizens to turn in any unused medications for safe and proper disposal.  Police employees will be available to handle collections in front of the Littleton Center at 2255 W. Berry Ave.

During last year’s campaign, the American public turned in more than 22,000 lbs. of prescription drugs.  As many Americans are becoming aware, medicines should not be thrown away or flushed down the toilet.  The “Take-Back” campaign offers a safe alternative for disposal.  The community’s participation in eliminating unused medications helps reduce the chances of accidental poisonings and overdoses.
