Mission Statement
The mission of the Littleton Police Department, in partnership with our community, is to protect life and property, safeguard constitutional rights, enhance the quality of life, and reduce fear through professionalism, problem solving, and personal commitment.
City Facts
- The City of Littleton was incorporated in 1890. The city covers more than 13 square miles and is located in three different counties. Its population is over 40,000.
- The city utilizes a council/manager form of government. The city is a major service provider including a library and a historical museum.
- The Arapahoe Community College and Littleton Public Schools provide a quality education to the community.

Police
The Littleton Police Department employs 70 commissioned officers and 26 civilians. The Department is composed of three divisions: Patrol, Detective and Support Services.
The Police Department is committed to community-oriented policing and problem solving strategies. The departments mission statement and value statement direct the daily commitment to creating a strong partnership within its community.

Training
All recruits complete a 16-week field training program and remain on probation for 12 months. Officers are provided with 120 hours of scheduled training each year.

Qualifications
- Possess current Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training certification (P.O.S.T.)
- High school or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years college credit (60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours with no grades below a "C")
