The Littleton Police Department employs 70 commissioned officers and 26 civilians. The Department is composed of three divisions: Patrol, Detective and Support Services.

The Police Department is committed to community-oriented policing and problem solving strategies. The department’s mission statement and value statement direct the daily commitment to creating a strong partnership within its community.

Patrol shift Four 10-hour days per week

Training

All recruits complete a 16-week field training program and remain on probation for 12 months. Officers are provided with 120 hours of scheduled training each year.

Qualifications

  • Possess current Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training certification (P.O.S.T.)
  • High school or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years college credit (60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours with no grades below a "C")
