Grab, Gab & Go

Stop by the Aging Well Resource Center on the fourth Monday of each month from 1:30 to 2 p.m. to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a refreshment. Stay to learn about our services, ask a question and/or continue on to Bemis Library’s monthly afternoon program from 2 to 3 p.m. Grab, Gab & Go events are free, always have prize drawings, and do not require an RSVP.

Holidays and natural disasters are two of the most common occasions for charity fraud.  Unsuspecting donors are often hoodwinked into clever ways of contributing to charities that sound legitimate, but are in fact hoaxes carried out by crooks.

Learn how to avoid common holiday and charitable scams, identify legitimate charities, and other methods of recognizing, and keeping the “Scrooge” at bay with Barbara Martin-Worley of the Consumer Fraud Protection division of the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s office.
