The Bemis Public Library is proud to announce its first community-wide reading event, One Book One Littleton. In partnership with the Friends of the Littleton Library and Museum, the library has invited author Charles Vogl to present an interactive keynote program on his book The Art of Community: Seven Principles for Belonging.
Strong communities help people support one another, share their passions and achieve big goals. Such cultures of belonging aren't just happy accidents. They can be purposefully cultivated—whether in a faith institution, among friends and enthusiasts—or in an entire city. Drawing on 3,000 years of history and his personal experience, Vogl lays out seven time-tested principles for growing enduring, effective and connected communities.
On Thursday, September 16, the library will host a reception and keynote event with Charles Vogl at Arapahoe Community College. We invite all members of our community to join us for this special event.
The reception, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., will be catered by GraceFull Cafe - an example of strong community in action!
The interactive keynote presentation, designed to initiate conversations specific to the local community, will begin at 7 p.m. Attendees will be encouraged to engage directly with the challenges that Littleton and Colorado face, and the opportunities for strengthening the connections we have with each other.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets for the reception and keynote together are $25; tickets for just the keynote presentation are $15. Click here to purchase tickets.
