Noise Ordinance Amended for Downtown
The Littleton City Council amended the city's noise ordinance March 2 to add flexibility for businesses along Main Street until October 31. The adjustments allow some higher noise level limits on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between noon and 10 p.m. The higher noise levels are applicable only to the Main Street Historic District.
During the spring, summer, and fall, staff will measure sound levels and work with businesses and residents along Main Street to gather feedback on the temporary change. Noise complaints will be addressed promptly and if a violation is found, adjustments will be required as necessary to comply with the code.
The ordinance will be reviewed by city council during a study session this summer, prior to the temporary ordinance sunsetting on November 1, 2021.
