Littleton Police Search for Driver Who Struck Officer
On June 28, 2017, at approximately noon, officers from the Littleton Police Department were investigating a suspected stolen vehicle at 2819 W. Belleview Ave. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated and struck one of the officers. One shot was fired at the vehicle. It is unknown if the vehicle was struck by the round. The vehicle fled the scene and was last seen northbound on S. Santa Fe Dr. at Hampden Ave. The officer was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The investigation into the identity of the driver is ongoing. She is described as Hispanic with dyed blond hair, 25-30 years old, and a large build. The vehicle is described as an older, dark blue, sedan with heavy body damage, possibly a Honda or Buick.
Littleton Police will be available for interviews in the parking lot of the Littleton Center today at 4:30 p.m.
