Littleton Police dye hair purple in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness month. In an effort to raise awareness, some employees from the Littleton Police Department have dyed their hair purple and are inviting the public to do the same.

The hope is that this campaign can make a difference by grabbing the attention of victims and witnesses, while educating them on the options they have to remove themselves, children, and pets from dangerous situations. Organizations such as Gateway Domestic Violence Services and the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence play active roles in this endeavor.
