Road work to begin on South Santa Fe Drive
Beginning Wednesday, July 11, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor partner, APC Construction Co., LLC, will begin daytime and overnight work on South Santa Fe Drive/US 85 between County Line Road and Bowles Avenue as a part of the CO 177 and US 85 Roadway Improvements project. This work is expected to be complete in early August.
Work will begin on the south side of the project at County Line Road and move north until it reaches Bowles Avenue. This part of the $6.3 million overlay project will include northbound milling and paving of the roadway, installation of ADA ramps, and replacing curb, gutter and sidewalks at various locations on US 85.
Motorists should expect traffic shifts to be in place during work hours in the project zone. Daytime work hours will be between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and overnight work hours between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. A speed reduction to 40 m.p.h. will be in place in the US 85 project zone during overnight work. Various lane closures are expected to occur during work hours, and weekend work may occur as needed. Motorists are asked to please go slow in the cone zone.
