South Datura Street Apartment Fire

Datura apartment fire with firefighterLittleton Fire Rescue (LFR) received a call at 5:40 a.m. this morning for a fire in the 5800 block of South Datura Street. The fire was reported on the first floor in the north wing. Forty-five units and 100 personnel responded from LFR, South Metro Fire Rescue, West Metro Fire Rescue, Littleton Police, and private ambulance companies. Thirteen people were transported to the hospital, three in serious condition and 10 are stable. 

LFR is assessing whether the residents can return to the apartments that don't appear to be damaged. In the mean time, residents who were displaced are being cared for at Littleton United Methodist Church by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
