Victim Identified in Littleton Apartment Fire

Victim Michael Craig Mitchell DOB 11-17-1948Littleton Police have confirmed that one person has died in this morning's fire on South Datura Street. The victim has been identified as Michael Craig Mitchell, DOB 11/17/1948.

Littleton Fire Rescue (LFR) reports that due to the air quality in the building, displaced residents will not be allowed back into the complex until at least Monday. Residents can call the leasing office at 303-795-2902 to find out when they will be allowed back into their apartment.

The Red Cross will open an overnight shelter at The Life Center at 5804 South Datura Street. LFR estimates that 25-30 people will stay there tonight. All residents' pets have been rescued from the building, and residents' immediate medication needs have been addressed.
