Cupola Cam is Back
After more than 15 years of 24/7 operation, the ever-popular Cupola Cam stopped working. Perched on the roof of the Littleton Municipal Courthouse, just below the cupola, the camera has been used by thousands of people from throughout the world since it first went online. Visitors can see a ‘live’ view of Downtown Littleton and other local landmarks. The Communications Department worked with Information Technology to acquire a new camera and installed it within two weeks! This new camera, made by Axis Communications, now captures video in high definition meaning not only is there a much clearer picture, but visitors can now see distant land features such as Devil’s Head Lookout Tower, Red Rocks Amphitheater and even the state capitol rotunda in Downtown Denver. Littleton citizens and viewers around the world can select from a large list of preset positions, zoom in and out, as well as adjust brightness and focus levels.
