You must present your library card or photo ID to check out materials.
Books (except for children's holiday books, which have special limits during each holiday season), music CDs, books on CD, and children's magazines and puppets are checked out for 21 days. DVDs, CD-ROMs, video games, and magazines are checked out for 7 days. Reference materials and newspapers cannot be checked out. A limit of 75 items may be checked out at one time on a library card (excluding eAudio and eBooks).
Holds may be placed on any circulating item, including those items on the shelf. Excluded are Jackpot items. You will receive a pickup notice when the item is ready for checkout.
Renewal of books, except as noted below, may be done in person or using Bemis Library's Online Catalog. A library card number and your name are required to renew online. Call the library at 303-795-3961.
All materials, except as noted below, may be renewed twice. The following materials may not be renewed: Jackpots, holiday books, and any item on hold. All eMaterials may have various renewal periods.
Lost Materials and Replacement Policy
If a patron loses an item, they are responsible for the cost of the item. Replacement items may be accepted. Patrons will receive a full refund of the amount paid for a lost item if item is found and returned within 30 days of payment.
Bemis Public Library may accept replacements for lost/damaged items in certain situations. The following conditions apply:
· The patron MUST reach agreement with the ordering librarian responsible for the collection the item is in prior to purchasing a replacement. Bringing a replacement item to the library without discussing it first with the librarian does not obligate the library to accept the item.
· Replacement items must be new items. Used items will not be accepted.
· A $2.50 processing fee will be charged for all replacement items.
