Liaisons and Appointments

Carol Fey came to Littleton 30 years ago. “I always wanted to live in Colorado,” she says. “I was working for Honeywell in Minneapolis, and waited for the technical sales territory in Colorado. I picked my Littleton house because it had a view of the mountains, and was less than a 20-minute drive to my office in the Tech Center.  I still have that house and the mountain view.  But the drive now would take at least twice as long.”

For 20 years Carol was Honeywell technical sales manager for the mountain west.  She then worked twice in Antarctica, living there for a total of seven months.  She was first a heating mechanic, and then an emergency communications technician.

“I have been to all seven of world’s contents, most more than once. I traveled solo in China for three weeks and learned that even though I spoke no Chinese, someone was always happy to befriend me.  After that trip, there’s not much that scares me.”

Carol has been a Littleton small business owner since 2000. Carol Fey & Associates, Inc. delivers online and classroom technical training, and publishes technical books ( She has published five books, an ebook, and a DVD.

Carol holds two master’s degrees, one in Industrial Technology, and one in English. She has taught at the University of Minnesota, Arapahoe Community College, and other schools.

Carol taught exercise classes at the Littleton YMCA for 20 years.  She is a graduate of the Littleton Citizen Police Academy.  She has served on the Oakbrook Homeowners’ Association board of directors.

Her kids—Marty and Kate—both graduated from Littleton’s Heritage High School and from the University of Colorado.  Marty is a civil engineer.  Kate is a construction supervisor.  They live in Denver.

Carol and civil engineer Patrick (Pat) Fitzgerald have been together for 17 years. They jokingly call their many evenings at city council meetings “date night at city hall.”
