Liaisons and Appointments

Kyle Schlachter was elected to the city council in November 2017 for a two-year At-large term.

Schlachter received his B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Denver, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and his M.S. in Geography from the University of Tennessee, where he was a regional finalist for the Rhodes Scholar program. 

Schlachter taught English as a second language in Kyoto, Japan as well as Environmental Science and Mathematics at The Women’s College of the University of Denver and Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. Presently, he works for the Colorado Department of Agriculture as the Outreach Coordinator for the Colorado Wine Industry Development Board. 

Schlachter was an appointed member of the Littleton Invests for Tomorrow Urban Renewal Authority for three years, serving as chair for one year. He is also a graduate of the inaugural Littleton Leadership Academy. As a council member, he serves as liaison to CDOT and the Museum Board.

His focus on city council is improving walkability and provide the best multi-modal transportation system for our residents and visitors; preserving and cultivating the historic character of our community; and ensuring that the community’s vision for Littleton’s future is appropriately incorporated into an updated - and modern - comprehensive plan.
