Peggy Cole was elected to the city council in November 2007 for a two-year At-Large term. She was re-elected in 2009 for a two-year term, and in 2011 and again in 2015 for four-year terms.
Cole earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Western Maryland College; a master’s degree in English from the University of Arizona; and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a PhD in education from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Cole’s career included teaching college-level English for 37 years, 35 of those at Arapahoe Community College where she also chaired the Department of English for five years. She was involved in leadership and policy development for higher education at the local and state level.
Cole is a member of the Littleton Police Citizens Academy Alumni, and a graduate of the Citizens Emergency Response Team. She is a member of the city council audit committee, and the board and commission task force.
Cole advocates open communication with citizens, strong fiscal management, and transparent government. She is focused on the city council goals of fostering community involvement, communication and trust; assuring a financially-sound city government; and preserving and maintaining a quality community.
